Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 2026

Your privacy matters to us. Ownsley does not sell your personal information. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly including your name, email address, phone number, and property information when you create an account or listing. We also collect usage data including pages visited, features used, and interactions with the Platform. We may collect location data to show relevant listings. Payment information is processed by Stripe and we do not store full payment details.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to provide and improve the Platform, connect buyers with sellers, send transactional emails, notify you of inquiries on your listings, process payments, verify attorney credentials, and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

3. Information Sharing

We share your information only as necessary to provide the Platform. When you submit an inquiry on a listing, your name, email, and message are shared with the seller. Attorney contact information is displayed publicly on their listing. We may share information with service providers including Supabase (database), Stripe (payments), and Mapbox (mapping). We will disclose information when required by law.

4. Listing Information

Property listings on Ownsley are publicly visible. Sellers should be aware that listing information including city, state, property details, and RTO terms will be visible to all visitors. Exact street addresses are not displayed publicly — only city-level location is shown on the map. Contact information is only shared when a buyer submits an inquiry.

5. Cookies and Tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies to maintain your session, remember your preferences, and analyze Platform usage. You can control cookie settings through your browser. Disabling cookies may affect Platform functionality. We use Supabase for authentication which uses secure HTTP-only cookies.

6. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit and at rest, secure authentication, and regular security reviews. However, no system is completely secure and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your information. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.

7. Data Retention

We retain your account information while your account is active. Listing data is retained for the duration of the listing plus 12 months. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at privacy@ownsley.com. Note that some information may be retained as required by law or for legitimate business purposes.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information. You may update your account information at any time through your dashboard. To request data deletion or a copy of your data, contact privacy@ownsley.com. California residents have additional rights under CCPA including the right to know what personal information is collected and the right to opt out of sale (we do not sell personal information).

9. Children

Ownsley is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

10. Third Party Links

The Platform may contain links to third party websites including attorney websites and state bar associations. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third party sites. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing any information.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes via email or prominent notice on the Platform. Your continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
